2K a year 6 days ago 6 days ago 6 days ago The Pastor of Children's Ministry will lead and direct ministry for children and families, birth through fifth grade, creating a dynamic ministry that engages children and families, while supporting them with pastoral care, and supporting the overall mission of Servant of Christ.

Required Qualifications A Master of Divinity from an accredited Seminary On the Roster of Word and Sacrament Ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America or a full communion partner Desired Qualifications A collaborator who enjoys working in a structured ministry environment and shows a willingness to innovate, create, and explore new ways of doing ministry with children Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and planning skills Experience working in a ministry setting with children and families Professional work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to the mission and core values of SOC.
Experience preaching in a congregational setting during Sunday worship.
Experience providing pastoral care to children and families in a ministry setting Accountability The Pastor of Children's Ministry reports to the Senior Pastor, who will administer performance appraisals ever six month to review progress toward mutually agreed upon goals and measures for success.
Essential Functions Plan, coordinate and lead Children's ministry programs including milestone ministry, Sunday School, VBS, ensuring alignment with mission, overall goals, and core values of SOC.
Engaging in ongoing relational ministry with Children and their families, maintaining a presence in the community, including a connection the preschool.
Work closely with Senior Pastor to create, plan and implement milestone ministries, special Sundays, children's choirs including (but not limited to) overseeing Sunday School Faith Guides, Education Team.
Musicians, and program leaders.
Lead and coordinate special events like Rally Day, Advent/Christmas Event, Holy Week Event, Parent's Night Out, Milestones etc.
Promote, plan and lead summer programming for Children (VBS, family bonfires, game night etc.
) including any fundraising activities necessary.
Coordinate registration process, development of class lists, volunteer lists, program calendars, curriculum selection and purchase Preach in Sunday Morning Worship once a month Rotate leading baptismal classes with the Senior Pastor Provide Pastoral Care to children and their families.
Available to help with sacramental ministry in collaboration or in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
Available to be on call for pastoral emergencies in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
Share duties of officiating at Funerals and Weddings with the Senior Pastor.
Other Responsibilities Collaborate with the Director of Next Gen Ministries for larger events and transitional ministry between Children's and Next Gen Ministry Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and Next Gen Ministries director on monthly Social Action/ Service opportunities for children, youth, families and the congregation to participate in.
Work with the administrative staff to advocate for the promotion of the Children's ministry program through all available SOC media including E-news, bulletins, email, and social media Develop and monitor an annual budget for Children's Ministry Regularly attend and participate in SOC staff meetings, retreats.
Participate in continuing education and networking opportunities in the area of Children and Family ministry.
This position will pay Minneapolis Area Synod Guidelines in the range of 1-7 years experience with pension paid into Portico, but will not include health or dental benefits.
This is a one - year contract position with the possibility for a call after the one year.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
